Ray’s Feluda is making a comeback on big screen

Ray’s son Sandip Ray, who has done the screen adaptations of many Feluda stories  by Satyajit Ray earlier, said his upcoming movie will be based on the Feluda story ‘Hatyapuri’ Satyajit Ray Feluda, the detective created by none other than legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, is once again making a comeback. Ray’s son Sandip Ray, who has done the screen adaptations of many Feluda stories earlier, said his upcoming movie will be based on the Feluda story ‘Hatyapuri’, the crime thriller set in Puri, one of the major tourist destinations in Orissa. Ray junior said the film would be shot in Puri itself and they are planning to start the shooting in the end of May, to coincide Ray’s birth centenary, and release it for Christmas. “My team and I have already visited Puri and seen the shooting site… I want to finish the shoot as soon as possible,” he said in an interview. Velammal Art Tour: Art of learning redefined

Organised by Velammal Knowledge Park, the four-day programme was inaugurated at The Velammal International School, Ponneri on Wednesday  Velammal Art Tour, a unique project by Velammal Knowledge Park (VKP), which is part of Chennai-based educational group Velammal Educational Trust (VET), was inaugurated at the VKP campus in Ponneri on Wednesday. Veteran artist Shri. P Gopinath, VKP’s Academic Director Smt. Geethanjali Sasikumar, and Kerala Lalithakala Akademi Chairman and VKP’s Creative Director Shri. Gone are the days when education was all about parroting, and the evaluation of the talent of student is not restricted to how much he or she learns by-heart. Yes, learning happens beyond the frameworks of books and classroom, too. In this context, art has a prominent role to play to take the students to the wider world around and its splendor.  Chitravathi Centre for Creativity (CCC) conceived the idea of Velammal Art Tour keeping in mind this change, and it sees art, in all its manifestations, as a pedagogic bridge.
